I love Colts

I just have to make a quick post about football. Colts football. I haven't seen a game since opening night, because I live in North Carolina, and for some reason they like to show the Panthers games here. And the Patriots (from now on, to be known as the CHEATERS) have been getting a lot of TV time here - what's up with that? Brady = whining cheater.

Peyton - best quarterback ever. Smart, talented, reliable. Not a cheater.

Joseph Addai - he is awesome. Did you see his leap into the end zone a few weeks ago? High fantasy numbers, except for last week of course with his injury, but he'll be back, trust me, and he'll still be the best.

Dallas Clark - holy crap. He is good. Still has that great smile on his face, even after he takes a big hit. He seems to be able to catch anything!

Bob Sanders - Good to have him back. He's pretty stinkin' good. He plays like Polamalu, don't you think? Cool hair like Polamalu too...

Marvin Harrison, Reggie Wayne - they've always been so awesome.

This week: bye week. Next week: Monday Night Football!!

Welcome back to blogland; I'm guessing you'll get a few more comments on this posting than your "zoo" one!

I totally agree; the Colts are playing AWESOME!!! I'm developing a serious crush on Dallas Clark's big grin, and it seems he's always first in line to congratulate a teammate when they "do good"!

The number of injuries in the entire NFL is making the "mom" in me VERY nervous, though!

When the Colts play the CHEATERS in November, do you suppose THAT game might be televised in beautiful North Carolina????

The colts rock! I have been to two of the games so far, opening game and the latest one against Tampa Bay. Both games I yelled to Peyton that his Sarah says hello. I am really sad that you forgot to mention my Reggie. Wayne #87 one of the best wide receivers always there like a rock! I say go Colts!!!!! I wish you could be here to watch and go to games with me!

Leela, I am a bit jealous that you've been to TWO games already! Thanks for the pictures, though, and keep yelling to Peyton - maybe someday he'll hear you.
And I did mention Reggie, toward the end, with Marvin - I couldn't forget him. He makes such beautiful catches!

Ross told me to tell you that you could see the colts games if you go to a sports bar and grill. He told me they will show all the games. This way you won't have to miss any of our beloved colts football! Sorry I missed Reggie mention in the original Post. If you want to fly home for a game let me know. I will try to get tickets. Next year no worries. We are 2376 on the waiting list :).

Also, don't forget that the Steelers are playing Sunday night football that weekend too.

We thought we had an in with my parents, because my dad had ordered direct TV and was going to get the NFL Ticket will all the games. But it turned out that unless they cut down a giant oak tree in the front yard they couldn't get a signal!

Leela, if you and Ross get season tickets (I mean, WHEN you get tickets), I will surely come up for a game!

And yes, Ed and I are very sad that the oak has diminished our hopes for NFL Ticket... I'm thinking that just for a minute, his dad considered cutting down that oak!

With no Colts game this past weekend, I'm suffering from withdrawal - especially since I refused to watch the CHEATERS' game!

However, if I'd only known NBC's overhead camera was going to fall, I WOULD have made a point to watch the Saints-Seahawks game though! But I'm sure I can catch a few hundred re-runs of the big event on ESPN this week....

    Love ya, Mom

    The Colts? Who are they?

  • At 6:08 PM, Blogger Sarah said…

The Colts, Shannon, are the World Champions, in case you have forgotten... They might not be as popular as your 49ers, what with their 2-4 season. Best of luck in the playoffs, buddy.

By the way, we miss you! I hope everything is going well there in KY.

Ready for some Monday night Colts football action?
I have my beloved #87 jersey on today!

I very much wanted to wear my "World Champion Colts" t-shirt to work today, but didn't think I could persuade management it was "casual Friday"!

I'm looking forward to watching tonight's game; and Sarah will actually get to see this one in Raleigh for a change!
    .
But I'm dreading Jacksonville's usual nasty hits and crapola... Go, Colts - kick some Jaguar @**@*! while showing them it's possible to win playing clean and fair!

Leela, your Reggie made some mighty fine catches last night!! And Kelvin Hayden was tackling like crazy, but I think Bob Sanders was especially AWESOME!!

When Jacksonville comes to Indy in December, they're going to be even more obnoxious, don't you think?

And do you think they mentioned Tom Brady's name ENOUGH times last night??

I gotz mad love for Reggie Wayne! He racked up plenty of points to push me past Craig in fantasy foo-baw this week.

    Yes...yes my Niners are hurting.

Hopefully the Colts and Pats don't lose focus this week, because next week could be the most over hyped NFL regular season game since the Falcons-Saints MNF game last year.

Go Reggie and Go Colts! I wore my new Reggie Jersey last game and I think it really helps him so I will do it again for this game against the panthers. Sarah I hope you can watch this one! Congrats by the way and I hope you have turned him into a Colts fan!!!

Well, I don't know about your neck of the woods, but CBS went off the air completely 15 minutes before the Colts-Panthers game started here in good ole' northern Indiana. They weren't on cable, or FIOS, OR non-cable regular channels - they were nowhere to be found!!!

And they didn't come back on until most of the first quarter was over with - just as the Colts got their first possession. So while I wasn't thrilled with the Colts in the first half, I was glad to know I hadn't missed anything major while frantically running from TV to TV in our house.

And while I haven't heard one word since then about why CBS went off the air, I did hear a little something about the Colts' next game. Remind me - what team are they playing on November 4???

Think the Dome can hold up under all the noise and stomping that will be going on? Go, Colts!

I laugh as I picture you running from TV to TV... Well, since I WAS AT THE GAME (woo hoo!!), I could summarize the first quarter in one word - yuck.

The Colts are playing the whiny CHEATERS on Sunday, but I refuse to buy into the Patriots hype. I'm still not all that impressed by them...

Alright Sara...your boys better step up to the plate and take the Cheatriots out! New England blood makes the grass grow!

    Lsetty-
Please keep wearing your 87 jersey! Reggie is helping my fantasy team out...um...tremendously.

well I didn't wear the Wayne Jersey yesterday since it was dirty I wore the Harrison jersey instead. I am really sad that Marvin is still injured and super sad the 2nd half! I still say Go Colts! I support a team with class and who can take a loss as a loss and doesn't have whiny babies like Brady!

  • At 1:59 PM, Blogger Sarah said…

Yes, Leela, I couldn't have said it any better. Go home, whiners, and we'll see you in the playoffs!

I am proud of our team, and the Patriots should be ashamed of their behavior - how many penalty yards did they get? They'll always be cheaters as far as I'm concerned.

    Go Colts!!

Sarah's dad refused to watch the game in the same room with me because I was making too much noise (especially when the oh-so-personable Bill Belichick was on the screen).

I was thrilled when Tom Brady was sacked by Robert Mathis on the Patriots' very first offensive play, and Joseph Addai's long run was fabulous!!!

I appreciate the way the Colts played, professionally (for the most part!) and mature under pressure. THEY weren't the team that earned not one, but TWO unsportsmanlike conduct penalties!!

If they had to lose to the CHEATERS, I'm glad it was the regular season game and not the playoffs. I think this will only
inspire them to work harder to get to that point.

    Now on to San Diego.....

This year's Pats team just emphasizes even more, the respectability of Indy and Dungy. You can ask my wife...I was extremely "ill" (as we say down South) during the fourth quarter because all Indy needed was a sustained drive with some first downs. Oh well, Dungy did a great job preparing for the Pats, but the DBs gave up two big plays late. Maybe next time!
